The ResPECT project is officially kicking off on October 1st 2026! Over the next four years, 22 partner institutions across Europe are joining forces to develop a trustworthy healthcare GenAI virtual assistant.

The high workload of health care professionals makes it difficult for patients to be heard and their burdens and needs to be addressed timely and independently of their socioeconomic background. ResPECT aims to change that by creating a trustworthy, multilingual GenAI virtual assistant able to integrate patient and caregiver narratives together with clinical data into clear insights. Patients and caregivers will be able to get doctor-approved medical guidance in real time, the workload of clinicians will be reduced through summaries about their patient’s wellbeing, and policymakers will gain valuable insights into what works for which patients, and in which context – on an international scale.

To ensure this virtual assistant is safe, cost-effective, and implementable across different countries and healthcare systems, it will be thoroughly evaluated through a multinational randomised clinical trial involving 680 patients in eight European countries.

We can’t wait to get to work and share our progress with you!
